At the Band's AGM
in April 2003, it was decided that a trophy shield would be
awarded annually in memory of Gordon Saunders. Gordon was the
Band's conductor for eight happy and successful years until his
untimely death in October 2002. The winner of the shield would
be the band member judged to have made the greatest contribution
(not necessarily musical) to the Band over the past year, as
voted by the whole membership. The shield is normally presented
at the Band's annual Christmas concert. |
